Hartley shock the darts world with a dramactic last match by winning the Odiham & District Darts League Division Two.

The season started with expectations high but who could predict the start to the season. Losing the first three league games to the Anchor, Broadway & Faulkner Arms. We finally recorded our first league victoryof the season at home to the Albert Street Club.

An early exit from the main cup competition to the Snow Goose and another defeat in the league, our thoughts started to turn to a season of struggle.

The team then recorded three league victories on the trot with impressive scorelines, Old White Hart 8-1, Wyvern 8-1 and Anchor 7-2.

A close defeat to the broadway 4-5 meant we were still climbing the tableand putting pressure on the top three teams.

A win in the Cup Plate against Division One team The Bell saw us into the semi-final. We then win the next four league gamesputting us in pole position not only to achieve promotion but to go up as Champions with one league match to go.

We suffered defeat in the Cup Plate Semi-Final to Divison One team Herriad.

It then came down to the last match of the season, a win and we are Champions, a defeat could still see us crowned as Champions or a heavy defeat could see us fail even to go up. The match against the Fox & Hounds (who were also going for the Championship) started badly as we lost the first 4 games, knowing that we needed to win 4 games to be Champions this was a distaster. We then superbly won the next two singles to make the match score 2-4 after the singles. the doubles started with two fine victories giving us the 4 points we needed to be crowned Champions. As the celebrations started we lost the last doubles to lose the match 4-5 but the Championship was ours.

Well Done.
